Walkin' in the Woods

Late in Fall we went hiking on some nearby trails with friends Chris and Jessica and their little ones Julian and Keira. Ian and Julian are quite the buddies. Keira is younger but is already a good hiker. Colin likes getting a free ride in the backpack, just like Ian did!

Fun 'n' Games

You can make an afternoon of playing with Legos when it's cold outside. And sometimes we did! We read, played board games, played blocks, superheroes, made tents in the living room, colored....you name it. It's like being a kid again! We got out once in a while, too. It was great meeting up with Heather, Jason, and Zane at the Children's museum in Portland (also got to see Holly and Paul and John and Kathy!), going bowling, sledding, walking, snow cave digging......we even got to go on a horse drawn sleigh. Oh, what fun it is.....

Christmastime!

Ian and I went to our special spot to select and cut down a nice Christmas tree. Ian and Mommy decorated it beautifully as usual. Many presents were under it with some help from Santa Claus. Ian told me specifically not to eat Santa's cookies or the reindeer's carrots before he went to bed Christmas Eve. We continued the yearly tradition (one that Steph started) of decorating a certain tree out in the woods. We string popcorn, cranberries, peanut butter-and-sunflower-seed-balls on it and we leave fruits and nuts. The deer, wild turkeys, and other animals enjoy a Christmas feast! We had a great time at Terri's on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning at our humble home. The weather was good to us and we shared some wonderful time with the crew in New York. A great way to end 2007!
